Latest news from our hair salon:
Since we are heading now deep into 2015, we have compiled a new list of hairstyles that will rock on 2015. Both for women and men, these hairstyles and haircuts are ones that not only are they to be trendy but which we also do and cut at our hair salon. If you fancy any of these haircuts or hair styles, then you are most welcome to pass by our hair salon and enjoy the services we provide with our top level hairdresser team!
The bobcut is back and this hairstyle was becoming a trendy haircut by mid 2014. It’s a haircut that we don’t recall being trendy as far as the late 1990s, so this is good news for those of you who fancy a vintage look!
Cutting a good bobcut is not easy and Lucy (one of our hairstylists) specializes in vintage and classic hairstyles, so come over to our hair salon and ask for her to get yourself a stunning bobcut.
Highlights in hair
You would think that highlights in hair would have stopped in the 1990s together with the bobcut, but we are seeing the choice of blonde highlights on dark hair increasing in popularity. More and more celebrities are choosing to highlight their hair, and we know that once enough celebrities adopt a particular hairstyle, every one else does!
In 2014 we saw the difference between short hair and long hair widening. What this means is that there are less women with medium length hair (about shoulder length) and instead more women are either cutting their hair short (eyebrow length) or growing their hair long (below mid-back).
Men are also starting to grow their hair long as guys like Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix grew their hair long and wore it both loose and in a man bun hairstyle. With a man bun, the hair is simply placed on top of the head and tied in a bun.
The emphasis with long hair is not in the haircut, but it is in hair care and regularly using deep conditioners. We offer hot oil treatments and hair mask treatments at our hair salon, so come along if you’re looking to take good care of your long hair!
The undercut hairstyle started as a hair trend for men but it soon took over women’s hairstyle preferences in 2014 with women like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna topping the list of celebrities with undercut hair styles. For men, the undercut hairstyle became one of the trendiest men’s hairstyles and haircuts of 2014 as celebrities like Michael Pitt (as Jimmy Darmody in Boardwalk Empire) and Zayn Malik continued to popularize the undercut hairstyle for men.
In 2015, the undercut is to continue with its popularity but we believe that the following styling form will become the most popular type of undercut: the slicked back undercut.
Slicked back undercut
With the popularity of the undercut, both women and men have been seeking new ways to spice up their undercuts. From what we get asked by our customers at our hair salon, the slicked back undercut is by far the most common of all types of undercuts. The popularity of the slick back undercut will continue all through 2015 and even 2016, if we go by how popular the undercut hairstyle itself has been over the last 3 years as a mens hairstyle.
While it’s true that we do have plenty of clients with curly hair wanting to straighten their curls, it is also true that we have many other clients embracing their curly hair to its fullest!
Curly hair takes some dedication to look after and we are always happy to give you advice if you have curly hair and would rather maintain it than straighten it. We also sell different products for curly hair at our hair salon, so you can always do your shopping here after getting a curly haircut from one of our hairdressers. The hot oil treatments and hair mask treatments that we offer are also great for curly hair.
